Emma, Inc. Promotes Two in Nashville Headquarters

April 5, 2012 - PRLog -- NASHVILLE, Tenn. April 5, 2012 – Block will serve as Emma’s director of financial planning and analysis. He will lead budgeting activities, coordinate all financial reporting and projections and oversee the company’s receivables and payables.

“Patrick is much more than our finance guy,” said Emma CEO Clint Smith. “His insights help to inform our product plans and key business decisions. He’s an important part of Emma’s merry band, and has been for years.”

Block has worked at Emma since 2007, previously as manager of financial planning and analysis. His professional background in finance also includes stints as a financial analyst at Healthways and as a senior financial analyst at Managed Health Network.

He graduated with a bachelor’s in business and Chinese from Trinity University.

Sears has been promoted from IT operations lead to director of operations. He will provide tools, guidance, coordination and support to all of Emma’s teams, ensuring ease of communication, collaboration and efficient operations.

“For the last four years, Scott has been Emma’s go-to IT guy. He’s been responsible for all technology used by Emma employees, and he juggled this responsibility marvelously. I’m sure he will juggle his new responsibilities just as aptly,” said Smith. “Which is why Scott will also lead Emma’s move of our headquarters into the downtown Trolley Barn development in June.”

Sears is co-owner of the Nashville restaurant Flyte. Previously, he was one of the owners of the city’s original Internet service provider, Telalink. He graduated from Vanderbilt University.
