April 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Show Low, AZ – April 2, 2012 – A lot can happen in 20 years; in fact a lot of churches, as well as businesses, often run out of steam and falter in hard times. But one local non-denominational church, New Hope Christian Fellowship, has not only survived twenty years of service to the Lord, but the congregation is thriving and the ministry expanding.

New Hope Christian Fellowship is a Bible believing, Christ revering church with a focus on Jesus, the author and perfecter of Christian faith. Their mission is to do things Jesus’ way, by Jesus’ teaching and for Jesus’ glory. Pastor Tom Brown founded the church in April, 1992 with a handful of believers. New Hope Christian Fellowship was called forth to be a New Testament body who revere Christ and adhere to the Bible as their only rule for faith and practice. The first service was held on Easter Sunday, 1992.

Working on a shoestring budget, New Hope Christian Fellowship rented space from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Eighth Avenue for eighteen years, while saving for their own building. From this location, the church moved to the American Indian Christian Mission chapel in Linden, where it presently holds Sunday service each week.

In 2004, the church was gifted with a great deal on a prime parcel of land at the corner of Cheney Ranch Loop and Highway 260. The church paid off the land in one year. Plans were formed to build. Construction began in 2008, but in the fall of that year the economy crashed. NHCF was left adrift. But due to generous donations and lots of prayer, construction started up again in 2011, and today the church building is expected to be completed in late summer.

New Hope Christian Fellowship has been blessed in being able to help various individuals and organizations in Show Low and the White Mountains. Some of their ministries include the Good News Club, which teaches youngsters in Pinetop and Show Low about the good news of Jesus Christ as set forth in the Bible. Another way the church aids the community is through Community Christian Outreach (CCO), a coalition of five area churches that together help needy families in the White Mountains with housing, paying utility bills and covering rent. Currently, NHCF also supports several missions, including Living Hope Women’s Center, American Indian Christian Mission, and various families teaching God’s word in Mexico, Asia, and throughout the world.

The church’s official twentieth anniversary celebration event will be held Sunday, April 22 immediately following the 10:30 AM worship service at American Indian Christian Mission. All past and present members as well as interested people in Show Low and the surrounding communities are invited to attend. In addition to a free chili dog barbecue with all the fixin’s, salads, sodas, and cake, participants will all go home with special gifts and prizes courtesy of New Hope Christian Fellowship.

Please join Pastor Tom and Margaret Brown and the congregation of New Hope Christian Fellowship as they continue to minister in the White Mountain community. Make plans to share with them in celebrating NHCF's anniversary and give thanks to God for all He has done to bless our church and its people.
