AMAC: Why is the president so irked by the Supreme Court review of Obamacare

He’d love to find a way to parse the Constitution in ways that support his ideological agenda

April 5, 2012 - PRLog -- BOHEMIA, NY – “If there was ever a president that needed to be checked and balanced, it is Barak Obama.  He’s the poster child for what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they provided for three equal branches of government—the Chief Executive, the Legislature and the Supreme Court,” said Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

The president, he said, has consistently criticized the Supreme Court throughout his first term, but his remarks after the hearing on his healthcare law is “at best an escalation of his rhetoric, at worst a declaration of war on a judiciary determined to uphold the constitution.”

The pundits characterized the president’s reaction as having declared war on the judiciary and, while Weber said he doesn’t disagree with that assessment, he said he believes Mr. Obama is actually “at war with the Constitution, itself.”

The AMAC chief said that “the president would love to find a way to parse the Constitution in ways that support his ideological agenda and that’s why he’s so irked by the Supreme Court.  Rather than use his knowledge as a Constitutional Scholar to uphold the basic tenets established by our Founding Fathers, he seems hell bent on discovering loopholes that might be used to further his socialist aims.

Obama challenged the nine justices of the Court as they go about their business.  He said; “I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”

It should be noted that the “strong majority” to which the president referred consisted entirely of his Democratic minions who held majorities in the House and Senate at the time, noted Weber.  “There was not a single Republican who voted for Obamacare.  So much for bi-partisanship.”

Frank Salvato is the managing editor for The New Media Journal and serves as the Executive Director of the Basics Project, which describes itself as a non-profit, non-partisan research and education initiative.  This is what he had to say about President Obama’s radical reaction to the Supreme Court test of his healthcare law:

“So, We the People really should be incredibly alarmed at Mr. Obama’s statement that a striking of the individual mandate included in Obamacare would equate to ‘judicial activism.’ The statement is not only uneducated and absurd; it is either a warning sign that we have a Constitutionally illiterate President or a Progressive activist who would just as soon spit on the Constitution than try to understand it. We the People should be alarmed that we have a President who would place his ideology and agenda above the people he is supposed to serve.”
