April 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Charles Hazlewood joins a host of famous Somerset ambassadors including businesswoman Deborah Meaden, actress Sarah Parish and festival guru Michael Eavis in backing Into Somerset’s 'So Well Connected' marketing campaign, which launched last month.

Rupert Cox, Chief Executive of Into Somerset, comments, “We are very excited about having Charles’ support for our new marketing campaign, which shines a light on some of the most exciting elements of doing business in Somerset. Somerset has an extremely strong creative sector, it’s the county’s fastest growing area and employs around 6,500 people including web designers, artists, craftspeople, musicians and film-makers. We are very much looking forward to benefitting from Charles’ experience in this area. Our research has shown that Somerset is the ideal location for creative businesses because it offers exciting opportunities for people who want a more rewarding life without compromising their business aspirations.

“Through this campaign we are highlighting the ‘connectedness’ of Somerset, with a view to boosting business investment in the county and thereby generating jobs for Somerset residents. We are fortunate to be so well connected in Somerset, with excellent road and rail links, a dynamic and supportive business network, and the forthcoming multi-million pound government investment in Somerset’s superfast broadband will help to ensure that businesses within the county can become even more competitive, adding to the county’s already impressive £9billion economy.”

Charles Hazlewood, commenting on his decision to live and work in the county, says, "Somerset is an adventure playground of creativity – a vibrant community where you can think bigger thoughts, and dream bigger dreams!"

Into Somerset has recently confirmed it will have a stand at Charles Hazlewood’s festival, Orchestra in a Field, this summer. The festival, which will be held in the picturesque parklands of Glastonbury Abbey, over the weekend of the 30 June and 1 July, aims to capitalize on the vacuum created by the absent Glastonbury Music Festival. It is the only festival offering two days of world-class classical music in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. Orchestra in a Field’s precursor and pilot, Play the Field (2009), was backed by TV business woman and fellow Into Somerset supporter Deborah Meaden.
