PRLog - April 4, 2012 - SAN DIEGO -- The first Derby Lite beginner session in San Diego filled up in just a few days. Not to worry, a second session beginner session has now been added to the class schedule at the Serra Mesa Recreation Center! This second session will begin on April 14, 2012 at 4:15 pm and run for ten Saturdays until June 16th. Registration for this fabulously fun fitness class will close on April 8th.
Derby Lite is Roller Skating for Fun & Fitness. Certified instructors lead high energy classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced skaters where ladies become healthier humans - physically and mentally - as they learn to skate a la roller derby without the impact or competition. Each 90-minute to two hour workout includes off-skates dynamic warm-ups, on-skates skills and drills, upper body strength exercises and cool-down stretching. It's a balanced, whole body workout that's never boring, shows progress week after week, and brings ladies into a welcoming community like no other. “Most of our new members haven't skated in decades, if ever, said Barbara “Queen B” Dolan, Founder of Derby Lite. “They don't need to be physically fit, but they do need to be able to fall down and get up on their own. We spend a lot of time falling to ensure it's done safely -plus it's a really great core workout!”
The Serra Mesa Recreation Center is located at 9020 Village Glen Drive., San Diego, CA 92123.
