The group delivered 96 Easter baskets, decorated in bright colors and filled with candy, toys and small New Testament Bibles, to the center to brighten needy local children’s Easter Sunday.
“We thought this would be a good opportunity to do something special, something extra, for those in need this Easter season,” said Kim Rogers, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s HealthCare Partners Associate Vice President.
Halifax Urban Ministries responds to the needs of the hungry, homeless and low income people in Volusia and Flagler counties and provides emergency services to help keep people from becoming homeless.
“We are very thankful,” said Arlene Martin, Halifax Urban Ministries Supervisor. “This (the Halifax Urban Ministries Center) is a small building, but it is filled with lots of love. The staff at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center handmade these Easter baskets and filled them with love. Parents are excited to be able to have something special for their children this Easter.”
