In his new position, Mr. Gomes will help develop the infrastructure, people, systems, processes and tools that will enable Sabadell to continue to grow in the coming years, particularly as it expands its lending operations throughout the state. “Julio’s knowledge and experience with a variety of industries over 20 years of managing and consulting will help us as we aggressively grow in Florida and beyond,” said Sabadell Americas Managing Director Fernando Pérez-Hickman.
Mr. Gomes brings a powerful mix of experiences in business development, information systems, operational excellence, business modeling and strategy. Most recently, Mr. Gomes was a senior executive at Wal-Mart Latin America. Prior to that, he worked with UNIBANCO in Brazil, where he was the COO and the CIO. He also spent time in two of the most prestigious consulting firms in the world, McKinsey & Company and The Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Gomes holds an engineering degree from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, both in Brazil. He conducted doctoral studies at the Sloan School of Management at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
