April 4, 2012 - PRLog -- (Las Vegas, NV) April 3, 2012 - Danny George, a Las Vegas native vying for the Formula Drift Championship Crown will be competing in the first round of the Formula Drift 2012 Pro Championship this weekend in the Long Beach Grand Prix Street Course.  Danny George Motorsports (DGM) known as “the Littlest Driver… Littlest Car”, also displays a defiant style on the track.

Defying the norm, the 30 year old, George who stands 5’4” and sports a rugged, unshaved look- appears more like a mini-stand in for Zach Galifianakis (Hangover & Hangover II) rather than a well-groomed motorsports car driver.

In addition, he prefers to drive the smaller, sportier Miata against the more muscular larger, token drift car a Nissan 240sx.
The edgy drift driver who is making his debut in the pro circuit, took it one step further when he unveiled an atypical design scheme during media day on April 3rd.  Missing are the typical motorsports colors and checkered flags, car #7 features a blazen orange base with duo tone etchings, and an intimidating bright blue morphed crab hugging the back of the car. The blue crab that stretches around the vehicle with its claws reaching the doors, is a mutation of the King Crab, Snow Crab and Japanese Crab, designed with mechanical elements that mirror the ingenuity and power under the hood.

The unique and eye-catching design was allocated by the creative team at BRAND Las Vegas, a full-service marketing agency that also sponsors Danny George Motorsports (DGM). Utilizing over 120 design and illustrating hours and inspired and influenced by concept cars manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Mercedes-Benz, as well as artists such as HR Giger and Retna. Sponsor logos are displayed along the exterior and interior including: The Crab Broker, BRAND, Falken Tire, Periship, Flyin’ Miata, DDS Performance, SSP Wiring, Improved Racing, Rota Wheels, 702 Graphics, and OMGDrift.com. The BRAND Creative Team also designed custom logos for the car including Danny George Motorsports, car number “7”, and The Crab Broker.

With The Crab Broker, a Las Vegas based crab supplier for upscale restaurants, retailers, and resorts, as the headlining sponsor, the BRAND team worked to incorporate an uncharacteristically, intimidating giant arthropod to fit the design scheme suggested by George. The arthropod’s segmented body and leg parts are illustrated in the image on the car. And, a crab’s home, the ocean with its swift currents are depicted with the use of lines to show movement, an understated way to reference ‘speed’ and fluid motion. The intricate wrap was detailed by the talented team at 702 Graphics.

George’s crab bearing 1994 Mazda Miata, although uncharacteristic for the drift series, packs a powerful punch, as it is equipped with an Corvette engine, LS 400 horsepower- a menacing force in a small car.  The DGM Racing team consists of Kyle LeBlanc, Crew Chief, and Dave Glaser, Spotter.

With his determined spirit and defiant style, George is geared to show the racing world its not about size or a car- it’s about attitude!  Fans can follow DGM at @whosdannygeorge.com   or at http://www.dannygeorge.net.
