April 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Organised by DrupalScotland, this year’s programme includes a dedicated Drupal For Business event on Friday 25 May. Aimed at decision makers, the non-technical sessions will explore the business benefits of using Drupal and open source software in general.

Duncan Davidson, Chairman of DrupalScotland, said: “The Drupal for Business event is designed for people who want to learn how Drupal can make a difference to their organisation and their clients. They will also be able to hear the experiences of their peers and get answers about everything from return on investment to starting out in e-commerce.”

In addition, free Drupal training sessions are planned for day one, while Saturday 26 May will see a day of presentations and discussion. From beginners to experienced developers, there will be sessions to suit all levels of practitioner, and social events will be arranged at the end of each day.

Delegates are also invited to submit session proposals via the DrupalCamp Scotland website. A series of 15-minute Lighting Talks will complement the programme of in-depth presentations and provide an accessible platform for new speakers. The deadline for submissions is 30 April and the full programme will be announced in early May.

Commenting on the programme, Davidson said: “DrupalCamp Scotland will feature sessions from some of the most influential people and brightest minds within the Scottish Drupal community and beyond, as well as countless opportunities for networking and informal conversations.”

“Community is at the heart of the Drupal project and we want to provide a platform for people to share ideas and engage with other users. The number of Drupal users in Scotland is growing rapidly and there is much we can learn from listening to both new and more established voices.”

Drupal is an open source modular platform used to build everything from personal blogs to enterprise applications. Increasing numbers of businesses, government agencies and non-profit organisation sites are turning to Drupal because it is free, flexible, and is constantly being improved by the hundreds of thousands of dedicated developers that are part of the global Drupal Community.

DrupalCamp Scotland will take place in the Informatics Forum at the University of Edinburgh on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 May 2012. To discuss sponsorship opportunities, please contact Duncan(@)digitalnomad(.)co(.)uk.
