International Flamenco Star Jairo Barrull & Company To Debut In The Uk

April 4, 2012 - PRLog -- ‘Barrull, A Flamenco Legacy’ is a show that reflects Jairo’s unique gypsy flamenco upbringing and his very unique personal style of footwork.  A style that was pioneered by his father Ramón Barrull at the end of the 70s and later adopted and extended by Jairo into his own style, a dance style that is followed by many young contemporary flamenco dancers today.  

Jairo Barrull, an internationally successful gypsy flamenco dancer from Seville, Spain, has been performing since he was 7 years old.  His family are the well-known ‘Los Negros de Ronda’, whose artistic legacy stems back to the 18th century.  Jairo has performed with notable flamenco artists such as 'El Chocolate', Aurora Vargas, Concha Vargas, Angelita Vargas, Gabriel de la Tomasa, Juana Amaya, Farruquito, Carmen Cortes and Gerardo Núñez.  

Jairo has performed all over the world including a performance when he was 13 at the Vatican for the Pope John Paul II and at the Alte Oper of Frankfurt with German juggler Francis Brunn in ‘Incognito’.  The German press repeatedly declared him ‘The Hope of Dance’ when he performed at the Berliner Philharmonie in 2003.  Jairo has appeared on RTVE and starred in the internationally screened flamenco documentary ‘Around the Streets of New York’, when performing on Broadway with a flamenco troupe when he was 15 years old.

To tell the story of his artistic heritage that has evolved during seven generations by way of gypsy flamenco dance forms, Jairo will be joined by first class gypsy musicians from Andalucía including flamenco singers: Moi de Moron from Latin Grammy nominated group ‘Son de la Frontera’,  David El Gayi, Manuel de la Malena and flamenco guitarist Eugenio Iglesias.
