British Minigolf Association to tee-off at BMGA British Masters tournament in Worthing

BMGA Tour makes its return to Worthing with the 2012 BMGA British Masters tournament at Splash Point Mini Golf

April 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Worthing’s 18-hole Splash Point Mini Golf course has been selected to host its second official British Minigolf Association competition on Sunday 22nd April. The BMGA British Masters tournament tees-off at 9am and will see over 30 British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour players, along with a number of local players, competing over four rounds (72-holes) on the 18-hole Miniature Golf course at Denton Gardens.

The 2012 BMGA British Masters will be the 13th edition of the competition. Last year’s tournament was won by Canterbury’s Marc Chapman, a member of the Kent Minigolf Club, who won the title in a 38-player contest in Margate, Kent.

The overall winner will receive the prestigious British Masters Trophy, the coveted British Masters Jacket and a cash prize. There will also be prizes at the competition for the player who achieves the most holes-in-one, as well as prizes for the top novice players.

Course Owners Anthony Pope and Peter Emmerson said “Splash Point Mini Golf is delighted to have been selected as the host course for the 2012 BMGA British Masters. The Worthing seafront course is one of the toughest in the country and will no doubt prove to be a real test for the best that British minigolf has to offer. It’s the first strokeplay competition to be held at the course and it should be a great day’s competition, offering local crazy golf enthusiasts and sport lovers a chance compete and to see how some of the country's best players rise to the challenge.”

The Splash Point Mini Golf course has previously hosted the BMGA British Matchplay Championships when 32 players competed for the national matchplay title in 2010.

BMGA Chairman Sean Homer said “The 2012 season promises to be another excellent year for the British Minigolf Association tour and the BMGA is delighted to be making its return to Worthing and the Splash Point Mini Golf course.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available for all events and the BMGA invites potential partners to get in touch. Please contact the BMGA for further information.
