“The Greensheet has worked very hard to create green initiatives both in the office and around the community, so we are honored to be part of this great event,” said Kathy Douglass, CEO of The Greensheet. “Sustainable living is very important to all of us. We look forward to continuing to help make the world a cleaner, greener, healthier place.”
Greensheet Green Advancement
The event comes on the heels of The Greensheet’s involvement in several other green initiatives. On March 31st, The Greensheet co-sponsored Houston’s River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash at 17 different Houston area locations. The company also partners with the Houston Weather Museum and provides weather-focused inserts in its publications to promote a better, more climate-conscious world. Later this month, The Greensheet will take part in the 2nd annual Water Week coordinated by the City of Houston Department of Public Works and Engineering.
The Greensheet also promotes green practice in its printing process. The company recycles 100% of its print product and the aluminum plates used to produce it. It also uses an eco-friendly soy-based ink.
Earth Day Activities
More than 15,000 patrons are expected to attend the city’s largest celebration of Earth Day. Features include environmental education zones on Air, Land, Water, Sustainability and Wildlife Habitat, plus a Healthy Living Zone, a farmer’s market and a Green Expo for consumer green products and services. The Greensheet will provide its own interactive educational activity to teach kids and families about the importance of the environment as well as how we can improve it.
