"Principles and Pocketbooks" Tax Rally for First Amendment Rights and Spending Cuts

April 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Woodland Hills--The Pope would bless this "Tea Party " tax rally.

The San Fernando Valley Patriots, Inc. (SFVP) hosts its third annual tax day food drive in Woodland Hills on Saturday, April 14, 2012 with a tea-for-two flavor: Two locations to support twin "Tea Party" principles--the First Amendment and fiscal responsiblity.

"Religious liberty and freedom of speech--protected under the Bill of Rights--are under attack at a time when America is struggling with crushing debt and failed tax-and-spend policies ," says Karen Kenney, coordinator of the SFV Patriots. "We need faith and truth, not 'politically correct' news or handcuffs on our rights of conscience."

The "Principles and Pocketbook" Tax Rally and Food Drive starts with a food drive at a parking lot collection center at the south-east entrance to the Crate and Barrel store at 6360 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91367. The food drive is from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and benefits the West Valley Food Pantry.

Donations of canned meats/fish and stews are particularly needed. The SFV Patriots will give a free pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution for anyone donating 6 6-oz. cans of tuna or salmon.

A half-mile sidewalk march follows the food drive and ends at a rally at Warner Center Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91376 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The SFV Patriots asks participants to bring U.S. flags and posters or signs that protest Big Government tax-and-spend policies and the infringement of First Amendment rights including Freedom of Religion in America. Signs must be issues-oriented and suitable for family viewing.
