Transforming you into a ‘foodie’

Come and join the party of local food and drink; a week long celebration in the quaintest Hampshire village by the South Coast.

April 4, 2012 - PRLog -- So Easter is nearly upon us and time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors and al fresco dining. At Milford on Sea the villagers have taken that idea to a whole new dimension with their very own Milford on Sea Food Week.

Now into its third year, dubbed the ‘Foodies heaven by the sea’ it is whipping up a storm in the local area from Monday 9th April until Sunday 15th April. It was originally and still is organised by volunteers in an attempt to give recognition to smaller restaurants and food producers that generally get over- shadowed by larger mainstream outlets. While the event manages to keep a local friendly feel with activities to excite those of all ages it has also gained interest by the big boys within the area in ways of sponsorship.

One such sponsor is Granite Transformations in Lymington. The kitchen and bathroom re-surfacing specialist;  it’s showroom manager, Emma who lives in the Milford on Sea village could see the opportunity larger companies in the area could provide to the community so making everyone a winner.

‘Working at Granite Transformations we could see that sponsoring would provide the link that smaller events need to get the buzz going. Over the years the Food week has become more and more successful and a focus that the whole village and local communities can get involved in with minimal overhead costs. It’s great to see the village come to life and local food really appreciated…what better than to meet up with friends for an organic glass of wine on the green.’ Emma says

The event is set to be bigger and better than previous years with a huge daily programme of activities including auctions, competitions, cookery lessons, bread making, chocolate moulding, wine tasting during the day and by night the entertainment continues with open mic sessions, Thai and Bollywood dancing, guitar nights and at the end of any party, a good disco.  Be warned to add a hole to your belt, the array of tempting  food on offer intends to destruct the strictest dieter  into submission and to let it go for a week of wondrous food celebration.
