Graphic Design is a big part of screen printing and Tim was always in love with the business end of design. Screen printing gave him not only the design aspect but also the business end. He started the business in his basement with only $100 as a senior in college. He did a lot of research on the art of screen printing and managed to build his first press out of wood. "The same day I printed my first shirt, I sold about $100 worth of shirts. From day one I was making money and one thing lead to another. I bought some better equipment and now I run my own shop," he said.
Tim has acquired many mentors along his journey. Some of his mentors have been in the industry for 25+ years and have given him advice along the way. He doesn't think he will ever be done learning since this industry is changing with technology. "I always try to keep up on all the new trends and change of technology. It is important for me to do that so I can keep my customers aware of everything that is available to them.”
Keene is such a great place to start and grow a business. The Keene Chamber of Commerce is a very active group and we are lucky to have the Hannah Grimes Business center in the middle of our town. Tim is a member of the Keene Chamber of Commerce and is a Hannah Grimes Small Business Alumni.
