MARINA, CA (March 16, 2012) For 10 years, Wild Thyme Deli and Café in Marina has united East Coast “comfort foods” with West Coast organic and fresh cuisines. Chef/Owner Terry Teplitzky announced today that Wild Thyme Deli and Café will be celebrating National Poetry Month this April. From Ashbery to Wordsworth, haiku to epic, anapest to terza rima, the staff at Wild Thyme is celebrating the great legacy and ongoing achievement of American poets and the vital place of poetry in American culture.

Terry and staff invite you to write a haiku about Wild Thyme Deli. From April 1 – April 30 post your haiku on their Facebook page

Ode to the haiku!
Tangy juice of orange
It strongly grips my taste buds
Not too sweet or sour

Cheddar cheese so sharp
Pleasing to my appetite
Adds to food for thought
Chocolate dipped ice cream
Chills me at the glance of it
Drippings on the sides
Spicey green pickles
Puts me in a picklement
Pickled when I eat

Remember from January – December 2012, Wild Thyme will donate 10% of all catering proceeds from jobs that total $100 or more to one of these four charities: CASA of Monterey County, Kinship Center, Animal Friends Rescue Project (AFRP), Peace of Mind Dog Rescue (POMDR) and SPCA. Simply place an order for $100 or more and you get to select where your donation goes from on to these five charities.
