Over Fifty Percent of Job Opportunities Posted on Social Networks Not on Leading Job Search Sites

The sampling was based on continuous aggregation of the most popular job postings on social networks that were analyzed by JobsMiner.com in comparison with leading conventional job search sites. JobsMiner aggregated about 1 million total job postings over the last month from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Plus, blogs and forums.

According to JobsMiner’s sampling of job listings, aggregated form the various social media platforms since their launch, more than 50 percent of job postings were not found on leading job search sites over a period of time. Software engineer, project manager, and nurse, each among the professions with the most listings, were found to have a considerably large percentage of "hidden" postings, 60%, 55%, and 65% respectively, unlisted on other leading sites. These “hidden” job postings, found in near real-time, are crucial for job seekers and recruiters to locate the best jobs and talent first. In addition, social media job postings are scattered over various networks making it difficult to navigate for jobs.
