Ram Navami Festival Celebration in Jaipur

Ramnavmi festival - the incarnation day of Lord Shri Ram was celebrated in Jaipur at grand level on Sunday, April 01, 2012. Jaipur is one of the main religious centers of India and known as Chhoti Kashi because of the second city of India with maximum number of temples after Kashi. There are more than 3500 temples in Jaipur as per an analysis. Ram Navami festival was celebrated in all the temples of Lord Shri Ram in Pink City Jaipur with Ram Dhun, band performances and Shobha Yatra processions.

Ramchandra Mandir at Chandpole Jaipur is one of the oldest temples of Lord Shri Ram in Jaipur where Ram Navami festival is celebrated at grandest level every year. Maha Aarti was offered to Lord Shri Ram in evening with 21000 Diyas (earthen lamps) in the temple. Anjan Kumar Goswami - Mahant of Govind Dev ji temple Jaipur, Gopal Das ji Maharaj - Mahant of Hanuman temple Jaipur and Mahaveer Prasad - Mahant of Salasar Balaji temple also participated in Maha Aarti.

A grand shobha yatra procession was also been processed in evening in Jaipur on Sunday, April 01, 2012. The shobha yatra was started from Surajpole Anaj Mandi at 4:00 p.m. which ended at Ramchandra Mandir, Chandpole Jaipur by late night 1'o clock. This shobha yatra procession processed every year in Jaipur. This year 35 tableaux joined in the shobha yatra procession. The procession was marched from Surajpole gate, Ramganj Chaupad, Badi Chaupad, Johri Bajar, Sanganeri Gate, Bapu Bajar, Chaura Rasta, Choti Chaupad, Chandpole Bajar and finally ended at Ramchandra Mandir Chandpole Jaipur. Devotees meanwhile performed aarti, showered flowers on shobhayatra and distributed prasad at large scale. Ram, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughan marched on decorated Elephants in the shobhayatra procession and gained the attraction of the devotees.
