Parent Coach Offers Guidance to Parents Who Receive or Suspect an Autism Diagnosis for Their Child

In honor of Autism Awareness Month and in response to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control about the incidence of Autism in young children, Parent Coaching for Autism is offering a Choose-What-to-Pay option for parent coaching services.

PRLog - April 1, 2012 - The new statistics from the Center for Disease Control are out and this has many new parents and parents-to-be up in arms.  The announcement came earlier this week that Autism now affects 1 child in 88 with a higher rate for boys of 1 in 54. These numbers increase the risk that parents could have a child affected by Autism. This creates a large pool of anxious parents in need of reassurance and guidance who are either dealing with, seeking or suspecting a diagnosis of Autism.

Parents who have suspicions that their child might have a developmental delay will benefit from the services of a parent coach who focuses on helping parents of children with actual or perceived special needs. In honor of Autism Awareness month, Connie Hammer, founder of Parent Coaching for Autism http://www.parentcoachingforautism.com, a subsidiary of The Progressive Parent, LLC, is making her consulting services available at various reduced rates - a Choose-What-to-Pay option that will make your wallet smile.

“I provide the worried and concerned parent with customized direction and support that saves them valuable time and energy through this precarious journey,” says Hammer. “We know that early intervention is crucial and I help parents move through the process in a timely fashion to maximize their child’s potential. This alleviates the confusion, overwhelm and stress that can impact the health and emotional wellbeing of the parent making them less available to their child at a time they need them most.”

Once diagnosed, the number of therapies and services children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) require are often so numerous that it leaves parents minimal time for themselves. Hammer offers parents an objective perspective that helps optimize their resources, time and energy in adjusting to their new life.  Hammer is accessible to parents all over the English-speaking world by phone or Skype from the comfort of their home.

As a parent educator and certified parent coach, Hammer helps parents uncover abilities and change possibilities with her more than twenty years of experience working with families. A licensed social worker, she currently supports parents of young children recently diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
