AMAC: The Constitution Is Under Attack

March 30, 2012 - PRLog -- BOHEMIA, NY, Mar 30 – “The Supreme Court arguments over the constitutionality of Obamacare have shed light on what is perhaps the most dangerous threat to our American way of life—a new generation of leadership intent on circumventing the Constitution,” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

Weber focused on two “insidious” provisions of the law: its unprecedented mandate that all Americans buy health care coverage or suffer a penalty and its directive that forces religious institutions to, in effect, pay for sterilization, birth control and even abortion.  

“The latter is a direct assault on the fundamental Constitutional right that Americans have to worship as they please; the former puts the country on the path to the creation of a dictatorship.  AMAC, for one, will not stand idly by as our rights as Americans are slowly but surely taken away from us by socialist ideologues who think they know better than our founding fathers.”

The association has launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of what it calls “a clear and present” threat to our rights and our freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution.  “We are challenging our elected officials on both sides of the aisle to stand together in defense of those guarantees and exhorting the American people to rise up in protest,” said Weber.

He pointed out that AMAC has identified lawmakers who feel strongly about this issue and who can be counted on to aid its efforts.  For example, Congresswoman Michelle Bachman has already publicly stated her position, he said.

Representative Bachman recently said to reporters: “The issue with Obamacare isn’t what we’re going to get, the bigger issue with Obamacare is what will be taken away, because we have now one person who’s a health dictator in our country and that health care dictator will decide what we get and what we don’t get.”
