Huron Shores Golf Club hires new Executive Chef

March 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Huron Shores Golf Club in Port Sanilac is pleased to announce that Gabriel Botezan has accepted the position of Executive Chef.  Gabriel was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania where he developed his love of food working at his uncle’s resort on the Black Sea.  He moved to the United States in October 2001 and settled in Sioux Falls South Dakota where he took a job in an Italian Bistro.  In 2005 Gabriel moved to Port Sanilac and found a Chef’s position at Rum Runners on Quay Street in Port Huron.  He was then accepted at the culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu in Austin Texas.  While in Texas he worked as a banquet and line chef at Biga on the Banks, the premier contemporary-regional fine dining restaurant on the San Antonio River Walk.  Gabriel then moved on to Sarnia where he was appointed Executive Chef at On the Front.  Bringing things full circle, he returned to Port Sanilac and was Chef de Cusine at The Van Camp House fine dining restaurant for several years.  As Executive Chef at Huron Shores Golf Club, Gabriel brings a taste of his varied experiences to the area.  His specialties include his homemade Corned Beef, Award winning chili, Texas style barbeque ribs, homemade salad dressing as well as other gastronomic delights.
