ADP recognizes excellence in directories and marketing promotions each year as part of its Gold Book Awards. Publishers submit entries, which are then judged by a jury of peers and knowledgeable industry experts. The 2012 Flagler Chamber Phone Book also tied for third place overall in the category “Excellence in Print Directories”
According to Heather Edwards, the Chamber’s director of advertising & enrollment, these latest national awards reflect the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to producing a directory that combines innovative creative design, increased visibility for advertisers and optimal functionality.
“Our Chamber has won awards from ADP in the past, but we are especially proud this particular cover was selected as the winning design for 2012,” said Edwards. “From a design standpoint, the cover was a real departure from traditional visual depictions of our community. We chose, instead, to illustrate key words people use when searching a telephone directory. This is a huge honor for us, and we are equally thrilled the phone book won third place in the nation for print directories with distribution between 25,001 and 50,000 copies,” she added.
Doug Baxter, president of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, echoed Edwards’ positive sentiment. “Congratulations to Heather, our graphic designer James Gonzalez, our business development team and other chamber staff who made this 2012 issue a success. The fact that we won two major awards illustrates that hard work does really pay off.”
