PRLog - March 28, 2012 - ROSWELL, Ga. -- Imagine fanciful Victorian elements -- elaborate architecture and aesthetics, corsets, pocket watches, dressing gowns, and other detailed visuals. Now, intersect those images, and that world, with mad scientists, fantastical inventors and a Victorian's view of the future, and you have all the makings of Steampunk. It's Wild, Wild West and Lemony Snicket. Tim Burton and Jules Verne. Brass goggles and winged zeppelins. This fantasy world will come alive on the grounds of Barrington Hall on April 28th from 10AM until 4:00PM.
With one foot in the past and one in the future, experience the lush and highly imaginative world of Steampunk with multimedia exhibits, demonstrations, music, live theatre and intriguing visuals. Exhibitors include Penny Dreadful Productions, Apparition Abolishers, Daniel Valdez's Steampunk Professor X and Company, Paige G. Smith, Dim Horizon Studios, Meghan Maude, and many more. Enjoy live music from Vauxhall Garden Variety Players, Ghosts Project, and Valentine Wolfe. Even Shakespeare goes Steampunk as the North Fulton Drama Club ensemble "puts a gear on it" in their steam-powered version of The Tempest. With food, entertainment, and unlimited fun, this daylong festival will either introduce you to the world of Steampunk or lure you in as an eager participant. Free and open to the public.
