1600 Hours Of Sweat Generates $50,000 For Charity.

Boot Camp 4a Cause continues to help people Be Well and Do Good by combining fitness and philanthropy.

March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- (Atlanta, Ga.) – In March 2010, a few boot camp trainers had an idea – instead of earning money from boot camp, why not volunteer their time and donate the fees that boot campers paid to local charities.

Just over two years later, Boot Camp 4a Cause (BC4C) has donated a combined $50,000 to Piedmont Park Conservancy, Open Hand Atlanta, Camp Twin Lakes, Everybody Wins Atlanta, Adopt A Golden Atlanta, Kate’s Club, The Path Foundation and Get Grounded Foundation.

That $50,000 has provided things like:
-   150 hours of therapeutic programming for grieving children through Kate’s Club
-   A reading mentor for 10 kids for the entire school year through Everybody Wins Atlanta
-   119 summer camp scholarships through Piedmont Park Conservancy

In honor of the $50,000 donated, Boot Camp 4a Cause did 50,000 push-ups in the month of March.

“What started as a nice idea to hopefully donate $10,000 a year has really taken off beyond our expectations”, says Andrew Whitney, co-founder of BC4C.  “We get so much out of Piedmont Park and the city of Atlanta, we felt it was important to give something back.”

“Any giving is good giving, but when a group like BC4C takes no money out of the business except to cover permits, insurance and equipment to donate 100% of proceeds, it means a lot”, stated Emily Brenner Hawkins, Executive Director, Kate’s Club. “These trainers do such a great job making working out fun, plus the money going to a great cause makes this a terrific organization in which to be associated.”

Upcoming charitable partners include Piedmont Park Conservancy, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Trees Atlanta and Labrador Friends of the South.   The next session begins April 3, 2012.

“We’re very proud of what we have accomplished”, shares Lauren Mross, cofounder of Boot Camp 4a Cause, “but our goal is to get to the next $50,000 in donations even faster.
