Nominations sought for inspirational Woman of the Year awards 2012

March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Once again Rossendale Hospice is on the hunt for an outstanding individual to be awarded the title Rossendale Woman of the Year 2012.  

The charity is delighted to announce the launch of Rossendale Woman of the Year 2012 and is calling for Valley residents to nominate someone who they feel is an inspirational member of the community for the award.

For over a decade the hospice has recognised and celebrated the achievements of remarkable women from the area at their annual award ceremony, which will be held on 18th May at the Red Hall Hotel, Bury.

Previous winners have included community champion José Walker, and North West Ambulance Volunteer Dawn Taylor.

Community Fundraising Manager Sam Morris explains: “We often talk about how amazing and inspiring some people are but rarely do anything about it. This award gives the people of Rossendale an opportunity to recognise and support those amazing women who have made a significant contribution to our community.

“So, it’s time for the people of Rossendale to nominate the person they think deserves to win Woman of the Year 2012. We’re looking for someone who is continually striving to help others or has achieved something extraordinary despite the odds. Maybe you know someone who works tirelessly for the benefit of local charities or is simply a valued and wonderful member of your community.

“This award gives them the chance to receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

“So come on Rossendale, get those nominations coming in.”

Nomination forms are available to download from the Rossendale Hospice website at www.rossendalehospice.org and from various locations across Rossendale including Do Dahs, Bank Street, Rawtenstall.
