March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Suffolk’s wedding industry is still booming in times of recession – local businesses are reporting record numbers of bookings despite the economic downturn.

In just one month, Trinity Park Conferencing and Events Centre has taken 12 wedding bookings with the average wedding size a substantial 250 guests.

Commercial manager Christine Bond said: “Due to financial pressures there has been a shift in the types of enquiries we’ve been receiving.  Couples seem to be adapting to financial pressures by either booking last minute or far in advance. We’ve had one wedding booked for 1 month’s time and one booked for 2 years’ time.

“We are also seeing an increase in mid-week bookings as brides look for budget busting solutions that don’t impact on the overall concept of their dream wedding.”

With household budgets stretched further than ever before, wedding venues, caterers and dress suppliers throughout the county were preparing for a steep decline in business for 2012. However, brides in Suffolk seem to be bucking the UK trend of cutting back and are continuing to walk down the aisle in style.

Sharon Donaldson, Managing Director of The Wedding Fayre, says: ‘Many of our suppliers were expecting a grim 2012 as couples were faced with the prospect of cutting back. The response so far this year however has been incredible and we have had a bigger turn out to our events than ever before.’

Sharon added: “Suffolk’s wedding industry makes a massive contribution to the local economy and we are very lucky that our close proximity to the capital means we attract not only local couples but also city-slickers that are looking for a picturesque setting only a short train-ride from London.’

Christine continued: “At Trinity Park we offer an all-inclusive package which takes the stress out of budgeting for the big day, whilst ensuring that brides get everything they want for a fixed sum.

‘We also have a dedicated wedding consultant who is always on hand to guide couples through the  planning stage, offering ideas, recommending suppliers and helping to find ways to control costs. Many couples are prepared to pay extra for this type of service but at Trinity Park it’s all part of what we do.’

The Wedding Fayre returns to Trinity Park later this year. For more information on exhibiting  or to enquire about Trinity Park’s wedding packages please visit http://www.trinityparkevents.co.uk .
