New release: Ray Kurzweil - The Kurzweil Music Story

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 27, 2012 - Recently known as the "Singularity guy", inventor and futurist, Ray Kurzweil, tells the story of his chance encounter with Stevie Wonder on the set of a daytime talk show. Ray would explain to Stevie that he was working on an invention for the blind.

Move forward a few short years. Ray & Stevie start a joint venture, the inception of Kurzweil Music Systems. Stevie, who would become the first customer to receive the new Kurzweil Reader for the blind. A device which could translate printed text into a synthesized audible voice.

Ray and Stevie would speak often discussing both world matters as well as music technology. While meeting at Stevie's new recording studio, Wonderland, Stevie would challenge Ray with the following question. Ray, you can digitally re-create the sound of a human voice, can you accurately re-create the nuance and sound of a Grand Piano?

And so begins the tale of Kurzweil Music Systems. "It all started with Ray" is documentary short video produced by American Music and Sound, the official US distributor of Kurzweil music products. Ray tells his personal story of the music company, the future of music creation as well as a few of his predictions for the future. You will also meet the astounding scientific team behind the brand including Hal Chamberlin, author of the book "Musical Applications of Microprocessors" .  A virtual technicians "bible" for fundamental digital audio synthesis theory.
