Local Orange County Mom uses Social Media to Name and Launch Company

March 27, 2012 - PRLog -- A layoff caused local Orange County mom, Stephanie Devine, to take control of her future and make her own opportunity.  Ultimately, her business idea came from her wrinkles!  Like most great inventions or successful businesses, her company was born out of an immediate need.  

“Tom and I tried a ton of products.  We had a hard time finding skincare products that were natural and botanical, and also delivered real results.  The product line we’ve created is wonderfully effective.  We use the best ingredients science has to offer, while keeping true to our philosophy of filling the products with botanical, organic, and fair trade ingredients,” says founder Stephanie Devine.  “We’re excited to make our dream of operating our own company a reality.  We are a For Purpose Company, which to us means that we are in business so that we can give back.  It's incredibly rewarding to spend more time with my son while still contributing financially to my family, and know that we will also be able to make a difference by giving back when we are needed!”

So how does one launch a business in today’s challenging economic times?   The Devine’s are using the concept of crowdfunding.  Crowdfunding is a way for entrepreneurs to raise funds without borrowing or giving away a stake in their company.  Instead, each person who pledges funds to the startup receives a reward.  In this instance, the rewards are luxury skincare products.  The Devine’s were selected out of over one hundred applications, and are one of 20 entrepreneurial startups being showcased by Crowdbackers.com.

“Crowdfunding, and Crowdbackers in particular, is an excellent way to fund our startup.  We really believe in the power of relationship building and social networking," says Tom Devine.  "We are even using Crowdbackers to hold a contest to name our business.  The winner of the naming contest will receive a one year supply of our skincare products!"
