“We had a feeling that this year’s event was going to surpass our expectations when we had over 1,200 advance online registrations,”
Dedicated to advancing the education of the lighting community, LEDucation offered attendees key updates and glimpses into the future of the industry. Educational seminars were conducted by some of the industry’s most leading authorities and gave attendees a chance to catch up on the latest advancements in solid state technology and controls. Attendees enjoyed seminars from industry leading professionals including: Naomi Miller- PNNL; Alex Baker - Energy Star; Nelson Jenkins - Lumen Architecture;
From the inception of the event in 2007, the volunteer committee aspires to bring a regional event to the Lighting industry that provided both an educational forum that gives the design, education and engineering community the opportunity to speak directly with a variety of manufacturers about the latest technologies and products and to also gain valuable educational credits with the accredited seminars. Plans for LEDucation 7 are well underway and the date and location will be announced at a later date.

The Designers Lighting Forum of New York is committed to exploring and presenting the power of lighting in design. Founded in 1934, the Designers Lighting Forum is a not-for-profit organization, led by a volunteer Board of Managers and sustained by member dues and the generous support of our corporate sponsors. They enthusiastically provide designers, architects, manufacturers and their representatives, contractors, educators, and students the opportunity to meet and experience the wonder of lighting in New York City and beyond. The DLFNY also supports formal lighting education through contributions to local universities and design schools, as well as national funds.
