As well as it's technical interior the XR Mission trainers also include some of Salomon's ever so handy smaller features. The Quicklace system allows you to lace up in a flash. Salomon have provided a discreet lace pocket pouch in the top of the tongue so you can tidily pack away the laces without the worry of having them getting caught and frayed while your out and about. The lace eyelet itself is friction free too, so your first pair of laces should last you for a prolonged period of time.
Also new for this season is the updated version of the Cosmic, it's latest guise being the Salomon Cosmic 4D 2 GTX Boot. The unique property of this boot is it's makeup, take a trail running shoe and a walking boot, morph them together and you have the Cosmic. It's construction means it's equally at home being worn for a pleasant hike in the hills or for faster paced use on the trail.

The Cosmic 4D 2 GTX features a molded EVA midsole and 4D advanced chassis for fantastic cushioning and shock absorbency. Underneath the boot features a non marking contragrip sole, which provides excellent traction on slippy or loose surfaces. The Cosmic has been made with a waterproof bootie construction, so there's no need to fear the odd puddle or dozen. Because the Cosmic has been designed so you can use it on the trail, extra protection is always needed, and the boots protective rubber heel cap and rubber toe cap keeps your feet safe and sound if you happen to venture out into harder terrains.
