March 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Following the recent high profile website launches for the Institute of Fundraising and Cambridge Network, netXtra has again consolidated its position as the membership and not-for-profit sectors’ first choice for member-focused online solutions. This latest in a long line of prestigious launches sees netXtra deliver a new dynamic website - http://www.theilp.org.uk - for the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP), the UK and Ireland's largest and most influential professional lighting association.

Following the ILP’s recent rebranding exercise, netXtra was appointed to deliver a full website consultancy service, culminating in the production of a comprehensive and tailored ‘Statement of Requirements’ document for the new website project. The extensive membership experience provided by netXtra throughout the consultancy period, and distinguished client portfolio, was ultimately instrumental in the decision by the ILP to choose netXtra to design and develop their new membership website.

Richard Frost, CEO at the ILP said “Nowadays, web companies are ‘two-a-penny’ with few being able to properly understand the challenges faced by the modern-day membership organisation. netXtra are like a breath of fresh air. Their knowledge and experience allowed us to properly consider the ways in which we communicate with our members, and ensure that we have a flexible enough online infrastructure to meet the needs of our members - today and in the future.”

The newly launched website is fresh and clean with clear navigation throughout, with key areas, such as how and why to join the ILP, details of training and events by region, career advice and sector-related resources are far more prominent and immediately accessible from anywhere within the site.

Another key objective of the new website was to better promote the Young Lighting Professionals (YLP) initiative – a program set up to encourage young members in the lighting profession to get involved with the ILP, supporting them as they progress in their career. The YLP microsite has now been incorporated within the new website and is now fully manageable from within the main site’s new content management system, saving administrators time and inconvenience with multiple logins.
