P.O. Box 421 Altamont, TN 37301 sales@nativewildflowers.net 931-692-7560 In Altamont, TN on March 26, 2012, Native Wildflowers announces they are reading to get the beautiful blooming plant bulbs right to your home to be planted in your wildflower garden. They have a numerous amount of perennials and ferns that can make your Spring planting skills look like it came straight from a magazine. Actually ordering from this garden plant nursery is the professional way of saying "I know quality when I see it." All of the plants from this nursery are freshly dug and will be ready to plant as soon as they come to you. Bare-root perennials (as they are bought from our plant nursery) should be planted on delivery to prevent drying out of the bulbs. The plastic packaging will keep perennial plants alive for a few days but if planting is put off too long it may be best to ‘heel-in’ your plant bulbs. This only means to dig a temporary trench or ditch in garden soil and bury the roots inside. Cover the roots with dirt, pack dirt firm and water on regular basis. This will keep your plants in stable condition until you are ready to plant them in their final garden spot. If the ground is frozen or waterlogged then pot your wildflower or perennial, water occasionally and place in a cool position for putting out at a later time. When you are ready for the final place, dig a hole wide enough so the bare-root with its roots spread out and deep enough that the base of the plant is just a few cm below ground level. Backfill the hole with dirt and secure the plant gently. Leave a slight depression around the base of the plant - this will help to take water towards the roots. Water well to settle the soil. Perennial plants are plants that will live for years come in your garden. Perennials are typically hardier plants than annuals and often makeup the very purpose of many flower gardens. Lasting longer than most any other type of plant, perennials are a must-have to many flower gardens due to their great ability to last for years and years. Some perennials can live a shorter life time but many can thrive for a few decades. The leaves on perennials will die (or go dormant) during the Winter but will generally come back and prosper again the following Spring and for many more to follow. Perennials will develop larger root systems than annuals because it enable them to get nutrients and water from much deeper in the soil and allow them to begin growing earlier in the year. Perennials can be found for nearly any climate or environment you want to fulfill. As well, perennial flowers are avalible in many beautiful assorted colors of blooms that can be planted in with existing colors or landscapes. Perennials grow non-stop in warmer areas but, in seasonal or colder climates, vegetative growth only occurs during the Spring or warmer time of year.
