PRLog - March 26, 2012 - ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) and The Allendale Community for Mature Living are partnering to educate area seniors about Senior Platinum Plus Program, the acute-care hospital's comprehensive wellness concierge service. The benefits of this free members-only program were recently highlighted at an educational forum hosted by the senior campus' assisted living residence, The Atrium.

At last month's seminar, program coordinator Ebony Jones and program assistant Manya Thompson-Philip led the informational session, which provided an overview of the all-inclusive Senior Platinum Plus Program as well as upcoming wellness lectures to be held at The Atrium Assisted Living. The residents expressed a desire to attend an "Eye Care" seminar for the March meeting.
As part of the Platinum Plus program, Andrew C. Brown, M.D., of Brown Eye Care Associates in Teaneck, presented an ophthalmology seminar for residents and guests of The Allendale Community. Dr. Brown is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, and is an attending physician at Holy Name Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center.
"Senior Platinum Plus Program is very similar to a concierge service provided at a hotel or upscale office building, except there aren't any fees involved," noted Thompson-Philip. "The program simply provides older adults with an added resource to turn to for help, when needed, within their own community."
Free membership in Senior Platinum Plus Program includes an array of benefits such as hospital discounts for inpatient phone and television rentals, Beyond Day Spa services and concierge services ranging from assistance with arranging transportation for doctor visits to assistance with appointments.
"Established 10 years ago, the goal of Senior Platinum Plus Program is to help seniors remain as independent as possible and we are pleased to partner with The Atrium, which shares this same goal," said Jones.
"The Allendale Community welcomes the opportunity to partner with Hackensack University Medical Center as part of our senior outreach initiatives,"
