TRANSMASIVO chooses GOAL SYSTEMS for all the companies within the group while preparing for the SITP

March 26, 2012 - PRLog -- AUGUST 2010 – Bogota, COLOMBIA. TRANSMASIVO is one of the largest operating companies within the TRANSMILENIO system, where it started operating in 2004, currently managing a 207 articulated bus fleet. Moreover, following the growing importance of BRT projects, TRANSMASIVO is already present in Peru through its subsidiary Perú Masivo, which operates a 150 bus fleet, and in Barranquilla, where TransCaribe operates a 120 bus fleet.

TRANSMASIVO had long considered the need for a complete software solution to the problem of optimal scheduling and rostering of buses and drivers in all of its operations, a growing necessity in view of the group’s high expectations regarding the new SITP integrated transport system. A thorough selection process was undertaken in order to choose between the main scheduling software suppliers in the market.

Finally, during the summer of 2010, TRANSMASIVO has chosen GOAL SYSTEMS’ over other suppliers such as IVU. Hence, GOAL SYSTEMS complete solution for buses and drivers scheduling, consisting of the integrated tools GoalBus® and GoalDriver®, will be deployed. Thanks to its powerful computation algorithms this solutions will allow TRANSMASIVO to carry out optimal buses and drivers schedules.

TRANSMILENIO is Bogota’s mass transit system. It is a worldwide reference in BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) systems thanks to its successful operation since the year 2000 and because of its size: 1,700 buses run through the system’s trunk and feeder lines. Moreover, the local government is inviting tenders for the operation of the new integrated transportation system (SITP), which will use a fleet of 16,000 vehicles.
