PRLog - Mar. 26, 2012 - The inspiration to write I, Interpreter came from the author’s life experience and his desire to provide insight into the fine art of interpreting and translating. Michael M. Gostich describes interpreting language as one of the world’s oldest professions.

I, Interpreter: From Iron Curtain to Interpreting is his fascinating memoir. Born and raised in communist Yugoslavia, Michael led a rebellious life against the Communist regime. As an adolescent, he risked death in a dramatic escape from Tito’s Communist regime in 1963. Ending up in Australia, he began interpreting and translating languages for a living.

Translating has become a vital tool for communication between nations. Just a simple error in interpretation between world leaders could lead to war!

I, INTERPRETER: FROM IRON CURTAIN TO INTERPRETING (ISBN: 978-1-61204-471-2) is now available for $16.97 and can be ordered through the publisher’s website:
http://sbpra.com/MichaelMGostich or at www.amazon.com or www.barnesandnoble.com.

About the Author: Michael M. Gostich graduated from scalping cinema tickets, bootlegging, boxing and a trade apprenticeship in Yugoslavia to entering the field of translation when he migrated to Adelaide, Australia. In the 1990s, he obtained a degree in social science and became a trainer and examiner in tests for other interpreters and translators. As a translator, one rewrites other people’s thoughts in a different language. To utilize his own writing skills and experiences, and to gain more knowledge to change his career, he studied novel and film script courses. He has produced screenplays that have been offered to Hollywood film companies.
