United Job Creation Council Partnership With West Los Angeles College Collaborates With SouthBay WIB

The Business Entrepreneurial Stewardship Training Genesis Program (G-BEST) is a project-centric, professional-action 8-week competency-based certificate course boot-camp; which is especially designed for the new entrepreneurs, fledgling business owners, the laid-off and displaced or long-term unemployed. Each participant (Enterpriser) will identify and choose to commit to an idea (project) to research, analyze, and to write a Business Plan for a specific type of business venture; which will then be implemented  and executed to generate one new business enterprise; and will create at minimum one new job (their own vocation).

Course contents include: business career strategies, marketing research, business intelligence, business plan development, change-cycle management, understanding financial statements,  legal considerations, home-based and virtual businesses, taxation, staffing requirements, risk management, business course documentation requirements, vendor registrations and procurement, contract negotiations, Internet telecommunications and mobile applications, capital access and one-to-one consulting and mentoring.

Meetings are facilitated in Conference Room environment, for open exchange discussion with question and answers format covering a variety of topics important for the challenges of successful business operation. Projects are supported via Computer lab and web-based environment and business plan software applications available.

Now accepting candidates who are new or first-time entrepreneurs and recent start-up business owners. Anyone may apply, but candidates may be eligible for free training benefits if they have documentation of recent separation from employment, are classified as long-term unemployed or are enrolled in a vocational transition program.
