CuriosiTeas NYC specialty tea company Southern states tour performing Chinese Tea Ceremony

March 23, 2012 - PRLog -- After launching only one month ago in New York City, CuriosiTeas NYC ™ owner Sheena Foster reconnects with her southern heritage by taking her tea company on the road. CuriosiTeas NYC ™ will be making stops at the Charleston Tea Plantation in South Carolina at the nation’s only tea farm; Atlanta and Savannah, GA and culminating in New Orleans, Louisiana April 1st - 9th, 2012.

Inspired by a humanitarian trip to Delhi, India where Sheena spent two weeks building homes with Habitat for Humanity and teaching English to local villagers, a transformational cultural experience while drinking chai tea with locals was the impetus for Sheena starting her own specialty tea company.

In honor of April being National Stress Awareness and National Minority Health Month, Sheena will be performing the Chinese Tea Ceremony in full garb in serene settings, sharing the health benefits of teas and fair trade consumerism while showcasing her custom hand blends.  

CuriosTeas NYC ™ is a New York City based specialty boutique tea company that specializes in custom hand-blended, fair trade certified ™, loose leaf teas and organic herbal blends that optimizes health benefits and pleases the palate.

A native of New Orleans whom relocated after college as a result of Hurricane Katrina, Sheena’s passion and commitment to serve others led her to a career in the labor movement where she spent six and a half years enforcing and negotiating union contracts as well as working on humanitarian and labor research projects in the U.S, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. After leaving her union job on Wall St., Sheena decided to combine her passion and love for people, sustainable development and uniting cultures - through tea.  

“I’m grateful for being blessed with the vision to take my tea company on the road. It’s exciting to start my journey by visiting the only American tea farm in SC., Savannah, home of the Girl Scouts as a troop leader to commemorate our centennial  and ending the journey in my hometown of New Orleans, LA where it all began for me.”

Prior to volunteering in India with Habitat, Sheena volunteered in New Orleans with Habitat for Humanity post Katrina, helping to restore her hometown when visiting from New York.
