Over the years, many of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers have commissioned Bertone to create cars that have since become benchmarks for auto design and icons of Italian style. These manufactures include Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Fiat (OTC: FIATY), Lancia, Iso, Aston Martin, BMW, Jaguar, Citroen, Opel, Mazda, Volvo, Ford (NYSE: F) and Chevrolet.
Bertone has a 20 year history at the Concorso and Lilli Bertone, the automotive design company’s president, is scheduled to participate at this year’s event in Monterey. In a letter to enthusiasts, Bertone announced that her company wants to share this historic celebration with the most enthusiastic supporters of Italian automobiles in the world.
“Bertone has produced some of the most beautiful and historically important automobiles. It is my hope that many of those cars can be brought to this special centennial event”, said Bertone.

In recent years, the Bertone designed Alfa Romeo BAT 5, 7, 9 and 11 concept cars have been displayed at the Concorso. A spokesperson for the Concorso stated, “We will have a tremendous lineup of showstoppers this year, including many cars that have never been seen in North America! In addition to the concept cars, pristine examples of most Bertone production designs will be displayed.”
The Concorso Italiano is an annual celebration of Italian vehicles and style featuring everything great from Italy including cars, fashion, food and wine in an elegant setting on the greens at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch inMonterey. The Concorso boasts the world’s largest collection of Italian automobiles and supercars in one place, outside of Italy.
This August 17, the 27th edition of the Concorso will kick off the traditional Monterey-PebbleBeachweekend portion of the internationally famed Monterey Car Week festivities. Spectator event tickets and limited VIPFan Club packages are currently available online at http://www.concorso.com.
