March 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Once Upon A Child is a memoir that chronicles the journey Kennisha Thornton Hill faced following multiple miscarriages. In each chapter, she traces back to the moments where she felt alone, guilty and hopeless-- a common feeling many women can identify with.

In her memoir, Kennisha reminisces of her innocent child-hood years when she dreamed of being a “mom”-- a dream that many little girl's have-- and reflects on her journey during and after her losses. She later learned that her child-hood dream was something she didn’t think would ever come to pass.

"I was like most little girls. I dreamed of being a mom. I played with dolls, dressed them up and fed them. I was their mom," Hill says. "I never thought being a mom would become a struggle for me. It was a horrifying journey filled with quietness, disbelief and confusion."

In Once Upon A Child, each chapter is divided into two parts where she shares inspiration through her story and with self-help motivation that targets some of the most frequently asked questions and concerns about miscarriage.

"I didn't have to dig too deep into research to learn of the many questions women ask," Hill continued, "I asked some of the same questions and sought similar answers. I wondered if it was my fault. I wondered if I was responsible. I considered giving up the idea of having children too. The second half of the memoir is written to answer some of those serious questions in a way that will provide comfort for the weary and hope for the hopeless."

Once Upon A Child is a memoir that will compel you to seek out the hope that is made available to you, if you've experienced miscarriage. And, it serves as a great gift for someone you want to help who may be grieving. The Foreword is written by Dr.  Roderick P. Diggs, III, an OBGYN who specializes in care for both normal and high-risk pregnancies, gynecology for women of all ages, infertility and more.
