Special Counsel to require all permanent project managers to earn the CEDS credential

Leader in legal staffing mandates CEDS certification for all project managers it hires to permanent positions.
March 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Miami – The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists announced today that Special Counsel, the largest provider of legal staffing services to corporate legal departments and law firms nationwide, will require all permanent project managers to earn the CEDS credential. The firm is also certifying several of its top executives.

“Working with ACEDS to certify our permanent project managers allows us to feel certain that we have hired the highest quality individuals that not only have knowledge of the law but also the workflow and processes that surround the review,” said Christopher Gallagher, Senior Vice President of Special Counsel. “Project management is a well-established process in many other disciplines and we are excited to work with ACEDS to bring that same structure to the legal field.”

“Special Counsel is taking a crucial step to reduce the time, cost and risk of the assignments its project managers undertake,” said Lanny Morris, ACEDS Executive Director. “Requiring the CEDS credential will foster confidence within the organization and with the clients it services.”

All Special Counsel temporary project managers will be required to undergo CEDS exam training and be eligible to earn the full CEDS certification after one year of continued employment through Special Counsel.
