Spring is one of the less common seasons to say “I do.” This can be beneficial, though, with popular caterers, florists, and photographers having more availability. Spring is also a great time to get discounts on venues and travel fare! Having a wedding around Easter can save some extra money on decorations since many churches already have gorgeous arrangements in place for Easter masses.

If a church wedding isn’t ideal, there are many other great options for decorations in the Spring. Fragrant lilies, tulips, roses, hyacinths, and Gerber daisies are all in season and all create beautiful, colorful arrangements. Pastel colors in pinks, greens, and yellows give wedding ceremonies a fresh look, while deep reds and oranges create a more clean and sophisticated appearance. For something a little more earthy, try deeps browns, sages, and ivory.

Planning meals for a Spring wedding is easy with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits to choose from. Steamed asparagus, fresh snap peas, green beans, and a salad greens lightly drizzled with dressing are popular Spring appetizers and side dishes. For a delicious dessert, try some fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate, bite sized cheesecakes topped with ripe fruit, or adorable lemon meringue tarts. Main dishes can be anything from grilled chicken, to fresh fish, to a rack of lamb done in a variety of styles!

Dressing for a Spring wedding is relatively easy for the bridal part and guests. Ladies can keep cool with short sleeves, strapless gowns, and halter tops. Avoid getting too chilly by wearing a dress that is medium to long in length. Bring a shawl or cardigan in case of a quick change in weather. Both men and women can add a little more fun to their attire by adding splashes of color.
