PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 20, 2012 - Lauren was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth. No one was sure if she would make it through those first critical few months in ICU. Through the great care that was given to her and a lot of prayers, she made it through that first big hurdle.

All of Lauren's life, she was a vivacious and a very spunky girl. As she grew older, her spunkiness grew into a love for life. "I'm a teenager first and a teenager with CF second", she would say to me.

When Lauren was sixteen years old, she suffered a major set back in her health. The realization that her day-to-day life would change dramatically became an ever present challenge for her.

Through her life she had unconditional support from family and friends - through good times and bad. Her family was a key ingredient in her daily life. She loved being at family functions - and she loved her friends.

She never lost that lust for life, even as she grew older and the disease progressed. She was always looking for that rainbow, that one glimmer of sunshine that would make that day a better one.

At the age of 22 she fell in love with an incredible young man who became a significant part of Lauren's life.  To this day he still fundraises for CF.   Lauren felt more happiness than she's ever felt before-almost giddy at times when she spoke of him. Love, at last.

Lauren lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis on April 22, 2006 at the age of 24 years.

From the moment of her birth to this very day, she is my inspiration still and gives me the will to keep marching forward.  She wouldn’t have it any other way.
It may be too late to help Lauren but there are children and adults out there that need help.  They need that cure.  This disease mutates and changes like a chameleon and becomes more powerful.  We need to keep 10 steps ahead of it and destroy it once and forever.  But we can’t do this without research and research needs money.  So make your donations.  Every dollar helps in the fight for the cure.
For the sake of all the people who are touched by this disease – help us help them.

"I would rather have thirty minutes of wonderful, than a lifetime of nothing special", quoted by Julia Roberts in the movie Steel Magnolias.  This was Lauren’s favorite motto.
The Lord has blessed the soul of
