PODS Moving & Storage hosts sorting party for Junior League of Milwaukee’s 2012 Grand Garage Sale

March 20, 2012 - PRLog -- As the Junior League of Milwaukee gears up for their highly anticipated Grand Garage Sale on April 27 and 28, they are enlisting the support of the local business, PODS Milwaukee. A long-time supporter of the Junior League, PODS will be providing storage containers to house donated items that will be sold at the Grand Garage Sale to support youth aging out of foster care.

On Saturday, March 24, witness an example of business charity & community support at its very best as members of the Junior League sort through multiple PODS® containers full of donations at the PODS Storage Center in preparation for the Grand Garage Sale.  

For the past five years, John Hudson, owner of PODS Milwaukee, has helped the Junior League of Milwaukee collect and store thousands of items that they sell each April at their annual Grand Garage Sale fundraiser which supports a variety of programs including, Teen Transition, which provides assistance for young people aging out of the foster care system. Hudson’s donations have saved the Junior League over $8,000 in moving and storage costs.

On the weekend of April 27 and 28, donated PODS® containers will take center stage at Serb Hall when the Junior League of Milwaukee sells thousands of gently used items at one of Milwaukee’s most anticipated charity events.

“The versatility and portability of the PODS® containers makes storage for our sale such a breeze!” said Deanne Waliszewski, Junior League Grand Garage Sale chair.

Since 2006, the Junior League of Milwaukee has hosted the annual Grand Garage Sale to raise funding that is channeled back into the community through projects that benefit local children and families.
