March 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Pat Scheible will show how to make your paintings more vibrant, cohesive, and satisfying.

A new way of thinking about the color wheel will soon have you mixing any hue you need, from bold to subtle, with confidence. Pat Scheible, artist and color freak, will bring the joy of color to everyone from the novice to the uncertain MFA. Participants will learn mixing, glazing, and scumbling techniques as well as color mixing. Everyone will go home with one or two small paintings, a color wheel with barbed-wire divisions, and exciting new samples for inspiration.

Color and order are the main themes in Scheible’s work, whether in dealing with the disappearing local landscape or abstract ideas. She uses her gift of synesthesia to help determine the colors in her paintings. Color is for delight, and for reaching the archaic regions of the brain where intuition resides. Order helps one make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and what is likely to happen. In Scheible’s work she strives to touch the observer on many levels. Artists who have influenced her include Andre Derain, Paul Signac, Sol LeWitt, and Peter London. She chooses to paint in acrylics for their durability, transparency, and suitability for building intricate layers of color.

Making Sense of Color workshop for painters is April 28, 9:30am-12:00pm. Sign up online at http://FineArtCarolina.com/workshops.html. Costs is $40 and includes all supplies. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm.
