In this new position for the company, Foss will be coordinating the selection, production and development of new choral releases from Boosey & Hawkes, G. Schirmer and certain Hal Leonard choral series. He will seek new composers while nurturing the renowned stable of writers already associated with these classical choral lines. He began his career in music retail, running the choral music department at Ward Brodt Music in Madison, Wisconsin. In that position, he developed the choral department into one of the largest in the industry. Scott left Ward Brodt to join The Lorenz Corporation, where he developed and grew the Roger Dean catalog into one of the most important venues for contemporary American choral composers. Scott serves as director of music at First United Methodist Church in downtown Madison, where he runs a large music program and conducts many of the ensembles. He is a sought-after clinician and conductor of both sacred and secular music, and directs musicals for the theatre department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as for professional and community theatre groups in the area. Scott has been a featured clinician at the NATS and ACDA conventions, state conferences, and for many honors choirs throughout the nation.
