Shermco hosted hands-on training for PowerTest 2012 attendees

March 19, 2012 - PRLog -- DALLAS – Shermco Industries, a major sponsor and technical contributor of electrical training at PowerTest 2012 Electrical Maintenance & Safety Conference held earlier this month at the Omni in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted hands-on training at its Irving headquarters.

Shermco was one of three area companies that provided the hands-on seminars. The focus of Shermco’s training was on rotating equipment, including AC and DC machine analysis – testing, maintenance and field-proven assessment techniques.

“We had several training stations set up with experts speaking on various in-depth aspects of rotating machinery analysis and construction,” said Ron Widup, Shermco president. “Groups of approximately 30 people rotated between the local three companies providing the training. In all we had close to 100 electrical professionals from about the country come through.”

In addition to hosting the on-site seminars, Shermco was a major sponsor for NETA’s 40th birthday party at Cowboy Stadium at the convention opening.  They also provided training for many of the educational tracks, including: Calvin Earp’s, ‘Vibration Analysis and Testing of Rotating Machinery: A NETA Primer’ and he was also the Motors and Generators Panel moderator; Jim White, ‘Changes to 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC: Cranes & Derricks in Construction’, ‘NFPA 70E - 2012 Edition Updates’ and he was the Safety Panel moderator; Ron Widup, along with Kerry Heid of Magna Electric, ‘NETA Maintenance Testing Research on Electrical Power System Equipment Performance.; and Pat Beisert moderated a transformer symposium during the conference’
