New York, NY - Richard P. Brown, MD and Patricia Gerbarg, MD teach their ground-breaking Breath~Body~Mind Level 1 Training for Transformation and Well-Being Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Stockbridge, MA. The workshop will train yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and health care providers mind-body healing techniques to help their clients recover from depression and anxiety.

Based on extensive research, this training combines a variety of effective breathing techniques to relieve stress and improve mood, mental focus, and heart and lung function. These benefits have been enjoyed by health-care practitioners, yoga teachers, military veterans, individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADD, cancer, Lyme disease, lung problems, toxic exposures, and victims of terrorism, war, and natural disasters.

Drs. Brown & Gerbarg will lecture on neurophysiology, research, and the integration of mind-body practices with clinical work. Dr. Brown will lead Breath~Body~Mind movement and breathing techniques. Providers will learn an evidence-based yoga protocol. The strategies, appropriate for clinical settings, can safely relieve stress, chronic physical tension and negative emotions. Many people who have practiced the Breath~Body~Mind techniques say they have been transformed, and that they never would have imagined something so simple could be so powerful and helpful.

The workshop is approved for Continuing Education credits for Social Workers and Certified Counselors (NBCC). For registration and more information call (800)741-7353 or go to kripalu.org on the Internet.
