There will be seven different Monday – Friday 2:00 – 5:00pm pottery camps offered throughout the summer, starting the week of June 11, 2012.
In Small Hands Big Art's ceramics & pottery camps, students age 7 – 14 will learn all aspects of creating original works of art out of clay, including hand building and sculpting techniques using a variety of clay tools, glazing techniques, and an introduction to the pottery wheel. Children will finish several pieces of art by the end of this exciting week!
“Kids love clay! It is cold, squishy, messy, & it's a great three dimensional medium to teach children about shape, form and structure. At the heart of everything we do, each child's unique creative vision and self-expression is valued and nurtured. Our students are always begging us to 'do clay', so we're excited to host these new camps in the spacious pottery room at the Weddington Activity Center, which is only about five minutes from our main studio. We're also very excited to partner with the Weddington Activity Center to teach the mixed media art portion of their 'Tumble & Art' camps,” said Jennifer Bryant, owner of Small Hands Big Art.
