Orange County Facelift Surgeon Explains Facial Rejuvenation

Is Facelift the right procedure for me? Facelift is nowadays a common procedure, and many think about the possibility. It is fairly easy to get general information, but far harder to get specific answers even to quite common questions.

March 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Hard as we try, we just can’t stop the signs of aging! Wrinkles, crow's feet, and a variety of other skin blemishes seem to make their way through even the best attempts to hide them.  Though you may feel youthful on the inside, you may appear weathered on the outside. A face lift (Rhytidectomy) can reverse the signs of aging and restore your youthful appearance. As the years wear on, the facial skin loosens and wrinkles, as do the muscles of the neck. Exposure to the sun, weight fluctuations and heredity will also speed up the process. Face lifts can be performed on the entire face (a full facelift) or just on the brow area, lower face, or neck only.
Cosmetic Surgery Face Lift Procedures:
Traditional face lift - A typical full face lift, performed under general anesthesia, involves a surgical incision around the hairline, past the front of the ears. Incisions may also be made under the chin, in order to lift a sagging jaw line. Excess fat will be removed and the muscles will be tightened. The skin will be lifted up, pulled back and the excess will be trimmed away. The lifted skin can be stitched back to the line where the cut was initially made. This procedure can take up to six hours.
Another option is endoscopic surgery, a procedure generally used for a brow lift where the forehead is lifted. Tiny cuts are made that allow access for an endoscope to be placed under the skin. The operating instruments are inserted through other tiny holes while the surgeon views a monitor to see what he is doing under the skin.
By adopting a new muscle tightening technique called “Double C-Lift” http://www.galleryofcosmeticsurgery.com/face-procedures/f...; Dr. Sadati has pioneered a breakthrough, minimally invasive face lift that results in a long-lasting, natural-looking lift that features quick recovery times.  What’s more, the procedure is done under local anesthesia. The procedure usually takes about two hours.
This technique highlights the possibilities of the next generation of high definition facial rejuvenation without the prolonged recovery associated with a traditional face lift.  Dr. Sadati http://www.galleryofcosmeticsurgery.com/dr-kevin-sadati-f... uses a double-layered SMAS plication (facial muscle tightening) sutures, which creates multiple fixation points, and ensures that over time the tissue will stay in place and not lead to early tissue laxity.
He explains that, “By applying a gradual tension with various vectors (direction) on the muscle, there is less pulling on the corners of the mouth and more tightening on the jaw lines, as well as the neck area, making it very natural looking.”
Face Lift Surgery Recovery:
The more invasive a surgical procedure is, the longer the recovery time will be. A full facelift recovery takes about 2 to 3 weeks; whereas the less invasive Double C Lift is about seven days. There is usually very little pain, however you may experience some discomfort the first night. Bruises are usually gone within seven to 10 days. Patients generally feel a sense of tightness and numbness that should gradually return to normal but can take several weeks. It is important to follow a careful recovery plan when returning to strenuous activity, in order to mitigate tension on the wound (which could lead to worse scarring).
Incision sites will remain pink for up to a month before maturing to barely visible marks. The results of a face lift are different for each person. Although face lift results can last for many years, people will inevitably continue to age. Some people have a once in a lifetime lift while others have a second surgery 7 - 15 years later.
Face Lift Surgery Complications:
Any surgical procedure, including a face lift, is subject to a certain amount of risk. Possible complications may include: bleeding; bruising; infection; widened or thickened scar; loss of hair; asymmetry (unevenness between two sides); or skin necrosis. In order to minimize these risks, it is important that all of the surgeon’s instructions are carefully followed—both pre and post-op.
Pricing:
The price of a cosmetic surgery face lift depends on the extent of surgery:
•   Full facelift under general anesthesia can range from: $10,000 to $15,000
•   Lower facelift with local anesthesia and oral sedation can ranges between: $6500 - $8,500.
Financing options are available to patients wishing to undergo a Cosmetic Face Lift. Many loans can be approved in as little as 30 minutes simply by filling out an online application.
A word of advice: before undertaking face lift surgery, please ensure that the plastic surgeon you have selected has a reputation for honesty, integrity, and an excellent record for safety!
