March 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Beaverton, Oregon:  Author Allen Pollens readily discussed the five books he published in only ten months.  He claims the broad range of genres provides something for everyone … children, young adults, and adults.  “Readers,” he said, “especially people who enjoy fiction, need to know about these stories.  Other writers will want to know about how I published them all in so short a time but that’s a subject for another day and another forum.”

Pollens laughed at the suggestion he published five comic books.  “Out of necessity, I designed all but one of the covers of these five books and created all of the interior images.  However, I’m a decent writer and a reluctant illustrator.  My recent experience is an open book … no secrets.  I’ll hold nothing back in interviews and an article, if it comes to that.”

Pollens explained the nature of the five books.  He said that three of the five, all fiction, run in excess of a respectable 85,000 words and close to 400 pages.  Pollens’ children’s book presents nineteen pictures and 19,000 words in ninety pages.  His Europe travel book is of similar length, but heavier on pictures, 89, all in color, and runs 12,000 words.  Pollens summarized each:

•   “Alternative Lives – To Sleep, Perchance to Dream… Another Life.”  Genre:  Adult science fiction.  Summary:  What if you could revisit a decision you made that affected the course of your life and could experience the road not taken?
•   “CREATOR – Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Epic, Earth’s Human Behavior Confronted.”  Genre:  Adult science fiction.  Summary:  Thomas Scribner witnesses seven Guardians of the Universes holding eighth guardian, Earth’s Creator, accountable for out-of-control human behavior.
•   “Superhero – Chronicles of Blue Knight Adventures.”  Genre:  Young adult/adult fantasy.  Summary:  “So, you want to be a knight!” booms the great head rising out of the red smoke.  Roger is dubbed in the name of alternate identity, Blue Knight.  The adventures begin.
•   “Starfish Chronicles – Undersea Adventures with Sammy Starfish.”  Genre:  Children’s middle grade reader fantasy.  Summary:  It’s all about adventures in the undersea world of Sammy Starfish, a magical creature, who makes it all possible.
•   “Al’s London & Dublin Holiday.”  Genre:  Travel.  Summary:   Join Al on his London and Dublin holiday.  Share his day-to-day trials and joys, including airport experiences.
